Below are many of the custom tapestries that we have completed for clients over the past several years. We have woven many designs - medieval, religious, modern, coats of arms, landscapes, architectural, and more. We have been blessed with many imaginative projects. With the exception of the Dabney coat of arms, any of these tapestries or their elements may be reproduced.
The tapestries shown below range in size from 13" square up to 8 feet square, with some of the horizontal scenes being over 10 feet in width.
As you can see from the coats of arms tapestries shown here, there is no regular format for a design - you can be as creative as you want. Neither is there a normal size. A couple of these are 2' x 3', several are 4' x 6', and others fall somewhere in between with somewhat irregular sizing. The sizing is up to you and your decor.
Since tapestry weaving was at height during the these periods, it is somewhat natural to reproduce some of these beautiful works of art. Although most of these tapestries are reproductions, some are copies of paintings.
Woven with an "antique" look, the Penelope tapestries were created over a period of a couple of years and depict the character of Penelope, the faithful wife of Odysseus. Click on any of these designs to see the inspiration for the tapestry.
As you have seen above, most of the designs we create are unique but fit into a category. The designs below don't. For instance the Clay House tapestry, has four family crests, is an archtectural design, and was done in sepia tones.
